What a treat to be able to catch Sugar Blue at the Time Out Pub!
We saw him at the North Atlantic Blues Festival a few years ago, but this was our first opportunity to see him in such an intimate space. He and his band (Rico McFarland - guitar, Ilaria Lantieri - bass, Pooky Sticks - drums) didn't disappoint. They gave us three hours (with a short break) of rockin', funky, high-energy blues!
Highlights of the evening included his funked up version of "Miss You", a killer "Messin' With the Kid" and an emotional solo turn on "Another Man Done Gone".
In a word... wonderful!
