Shutterday's theme this week is 'Festivals'

It's been a while since I've submitted much to the photomemes. Too busy taking photos and working/playing to spend much time tending to the photos afterward... Anyway, here's a submission to Shutterday taken at last week's Lowell Folk Festival. That's Hot Club of Cowtown performing on the Boarding House Park Stage.

Roger "Hurricane" Wilson - Time Out Pub, Rockland, July 26th, 2010

As this was just on Monday, does it mean that I'm caught up? Probably not, but at least I'm posting a little more closely in time to when the gig happened.

I can't resist this bad pun...
Roger "Hurricane" Wilson
blew into Rockland, Maine and put on a rockin', energetic show this past Monday night. Here are photos from the gig.

Eddie Kirkland - Time Out Pub, Rockland, Maine July 19th, 2010

Eddie Kirkland and his band played a couple of gigs recently in Maine. We caught them at the Time Out Pub in Rockland on July 19th.

Eddie will turn 87 soon!

Man, these guys could sure lay down a groove! No surprise there, as Kirkland worked with another bluesman noted for his deep grooves, starting some 60+ years ago in Detroit (John Lee Hooker). I'd say that deep groove is as intrinsic to them as breathing is to most of the rest of us.

It was an extreme pleasure to finally get to see and hear Eddie Kirkland perform.

Mississippi Heat - Time Out Pub, Rockland, Maine July 5th, 2010

It's time to do a little catching up here... We've been busy working and playing, which hasn't left a lot of time available for me to update things here at Whittling Fog.

On Monday July 5th Mississippi Heat returned to Rockland for Monday Night Blues.

Here's the night in photos...
