Eddie Shaw and the Wolf Gang played a smokin' set at the Time Out Pub this past Monday night. Because of past schedule conflicts, this is the first time we've been fortunate enough to catch Eddie performing in a club (we've seen him at least twice on festival stages). I'm extremely happy to have finally gotten to see Eddie and the band in a more intimate setting.
Eddie and Paul Benjamin go way back (1978 - which somehow doesn't seem like 33 years ago). Eddie's played in Rockland regularly over the years. Between the relationship with Paul, the appreciative and welcoming regular crowd at Monday Night Blues, the fact that they were recording Monday night's show for a CD release and that Eddie just plain brings "it" whenever he performs, Monday's performance was just plain smokin'!

At the start of the second set, Paul Benjamin sat in on vocals before Eddie returned to the stage.
Eddie was joined during the second set by "Sax" Gordon Beadle and Pat Pepin for a very hot triple threat sax session.
