Damon Fowler - Time Out Pub - Rockland, Maine May 3rd, 2010

Last week's performer (Mark Hummel at the Time Out Pub for Monday Night Blues) has been to Rockland many times over the last twenty years. This week's performer was first-timer Damon Fowler. Between the show and the crowd response, I seriously doubt it will be his last.

A friend recently posted on Facebook that "the Blues is in good hands w/ this kid." I was in agreement just from hearing his album. After seeing him perform in Rockland, I can heartily agree!

On Saturday May 1st we caught an excellent show by Sugar Ray & The Bluetones at the Venue Music Bar & Bistro in Freeport, Maine.

Monster Mike Welch and Mudcat Ward are on guitar and bass, respectively (Sugar Ray Norcia's on harp, naturally).

Another friend loaned me a Canon T1i and a few lenses for this shoot (do I have to give them back?!?)

Mark Hummel's been coming to Rockland and playing for Paul Benjamin for 20 years. This is the first time I've been able to see him at the Time Out (though we saw him in 2004 when he was at the North Atlantic Blues Festival with Billy Branch and Paul deLay).

I had a ton of fun listening and shooting!
