Harper - Time Out Pub, Rockland, Maine September 6th, 2010

Harper came (back) to Rockland on Labor Day (September 6th, 2010) with his band Midwest Kind (Drew Pentkowski - guitar, Chris Smith - bass, Marc Dixon - percussion). They served up a grooving and tasty blend of blues and rock accented by the infusion of the distinctly Australian sound of the didgeridoo (well, several of them as you'll see...).

Kenny Neal - Time Out Pub, Rockland, Maine August 30th, 2010

Kenny Neal has a new album (Hooked On Your Love - Blind Pig Records) due in stores soon. On Monday he appeared in Rockland for a CD release party at the Time Out Pub. It's a pleasure to be able to see him in such an intimate atmosphere. I think I've seen him (and some variation on his family band) four times now. Twice at the North Atlantic Blues Festival. The other performance was at the old House of Blues in Cambridge, Massachusetts. If the live show is any indication (he played several songs from the new CD), then the new CD should be a great listen (I was really hoping I'd have a copy for The Blues Bus (WMEB-FM) before the gig...)
