JP Blues - Time Out Pub, Rockland, Maine November 29th, 2010

JP Blues (John Pagano, Pat Adkins - drums, Sly Geralds - bass) returned to the Time Out Pub on November 29th.

It's hard to believe, listening to JP, that he's really just 21. He's managed to get an excellent blues upbringing, provided in a large part by Sam "Bluzman" Taylor. JP has a sound that is reverent to the past, but also brings his own personality to the forefront. With the Blues as one's musical palette, a performer's personality (with or without an instrument in hand) often is what separates them from others that are equally talented. I've had just a brief exposure to JP Blues (two CDs released, two gigs and some brief conversations), but I think he's got that combination of talent and personality. He's also got a healthy dose of humility, which ought to make him an interesting performer to follow as he continues to blaze his own trail over the next decade or two. Here's hoping you have a long, productive career JP!
